Why the Prepare and Pray 2.0 unit studies series is OUTSTANDING!

Homeschool Mamas do not need drains or distractions on time, energy, the budget, or the basic responsibilities of life. ESPECIALLY if you are combining homesteading and homeschooling. Homesteading can happen in the city sharing a community garden project, in the suburbs by developing a permaculture edible landscape, or on acreage with livestock and 4-H projects. WHEREVER you live, it is up to Homeschool Mama to get the chores done, the children educated, and the meals on the table every day. With a plan and some experienced guidance, YOU CAN DO IT! And enjoy it. Celebrate it. CRUSH it! Someday, you will cherish the memories of it. I do.

Families are under attack in this generation like never before. Childhood is being stolen by those who see children as obstacles or commodities. The Prepare and Pray 2.0 series faces these modern challenges head-on, by preparing a generation that can stand their ground, can discern truth from error, are proficient in practical life-skills, achieve academic excellence, and oppose evil as courageous overcomers. Our boys and girls deserve this advantage. And yes, the Prepare and Pray 2.0 series scientifically defines boys and girls…

The Prepare and Pray 2.0 series is unique. You will be able to build your day around what needs done, minimize waste of time and money, you will be free to explore things that delight and interest your children, so they will have less boredom and resistance. Learning becomes purposeful, natural, and FUN for everybody. The focus on classic children’s literature keeps the mood positive and gently challenging, instead of like basic training for an episode of Doomsday Preppers! Do we want our children to be prepared for the challenges of life? Yes. Do we want them or YOU to be overwhelmed, fearful, or frenzied? Absolutely not.

Children are introduced to the current event issues of their time with reading excellent journalism, open-ended writing assignments, research projects, and discussion starters. Critical thinking is developed, instead of parroting regurgitated answers. They will learn how to study physical and human nature, the Scriptures, and how to navigate a rapidly changing world with wisdom. A subscription to Epoch Times is not required but is highly recommended.

Children are introduced to the beauty of classic literature and language. They will also confront ideas that needed to change in previous generations to reflect the love Jesus has for men and women from cultures around the world. Children will explore the history of great men and women, heroes of the faith, and ideas that promote or limit freedom. They will increase daily in competency of practical skills and work ethic that promotes teamwork and individual dignity.

Are you new to unit-studies? The Prepare and Pray 2.0 series differs from other unit studies by integrating discipleship, academics, and homesteading. Just like Jesus used real agricultural life to teach Biblical principles to all ages at once, you will use each manual as a springboard for exploration of spiritual concepts, academic mastery, and practical skills appropriate for all ages and confidence levels. Resident Grandma learns alongside the toddler. Nobody is left out. Some unit studies are expensive, with complicated largely useless projects, long lists of purchased supplies, and exhausting field trips that keep you busy away from the homestead. Not so with the Prepare and Pray 2.0 series. Most supplies will be easily found on hand or will add practically to your homesteading resources. Nothing wasted. Schedules and plans are suggested with enough variety for you to choose what works for you. Weather, health, and urgency are part of the homesteader lifestyle; flexibility is built into Prepare and Pray 2.0.

The updated version of the Prepare and Pray 2.0 series has an uncomplicated record keeping system for each child, with checklist forms found in the appendix that can be maintained for your own documentation. Each week you simply check off subjects covered and if desired, note specifics about projects or extra activities. You will also keep a supplemental book list for each child, for evaluations or for participation in Book It and other community reward programs.

The Prepare and Pray 2.0 series builds on tested foundations. The early volumes raised a generation on mission fields around the world, in all fifty United States, and was acclaimed by the leaders who built this movement. The principles of homeschooling and homesteading have remained the same, but the challenges have changed. As an author, I have obtained advanced experience and updated education to address those challenges for a new generation while remaining faithful to what has worked well over time.

My nine children were raised with a Prepare and Pray foundation and have successfully taken their place in the world as hard-working competent adults, parents, and life-long learners. They garden, hunt, fish, camp, evangelize, manage large teams of technical engineers, are entrepreneurs in business, trades, and education. Some have gone through adversity and overcame the worst of challenges. You will not see personal identifiers of my family because our ministry has always had some measure of political incorrectness; this is not a time to sacrifice privacy casually and foolishly. I do not do D.N.A. contributions via Ancestry.com. I have never had a personal Facebook page. A homesteading lifestyle does not lend much time to Instagram posts or Fakebook. I have real friends and real enemies. Take relationships seriously, as the days are perilous, and time is precious. Real friends are precious. Homeschool Mama, I believe in you and am here to support you, as an elder with life experience ready to share with this generation. Helping you on this adventure is my passion and privilege.

I was raised on Prepare and Pray and I LOVED this curriculum as a girl! Now I am raising and homeschooling my kiddos and want them to also experience Prepare and Pray! Will you keep me updated on when the new version is available for sale? My generation needs to get back to basics and we could use your help. Thanks for all you do!

Our family lives among three indigenous tribes in the Amazon jungle of Brazil. We reach our missionary homestead by taking canoes up rivers and waterfalls so we must limit our cargo to only that which is most valuable. Prepare and Pray has helped our children enter into this adventure with practical skills and purposeful faith. We treasure the chance to keep you updated of our exploits!
